Hope everyone is doing well. Here is a look at some of the things we did in June.
What a fun time we had baking these strawberry rhubarb pies!🥧
Baking is an excellent, multi-sensory activity for seniors. It provides a rewarding mix of cognitive exercise, fine motor stimulation, and emotional comfort. Following a recipe encourages focus, while the rhythmic motions of mixing and kneading act as a therapeutic form of stress relief.
💡Plan a baking activity with your parents or grandparents. Even if they are just mixing or decorating, they will enjoy being part of this activity with you. 🥰
Our dear older ones have lived through decades of change. They remember receiving printed copies of The Watchtower and Awake! magazines, witnessing developments in printing technology, and seeing Bible literature reach people in more languages and places than ever before.
During their recent visit to the Walkill facility of Jehovah’s Witnesses, those memories came alive. The tour offered a fascinating glimpse into the work behind the publications and resources that have been such a familiar part of their lives for many years.
There was much to see, much to reminisce about, and plenty to talk about on the journey home. It was a day that connected cherished memories with the present and left our residents feeling encouraged and upbuilt.
