December 10, 2022 | General, Monthly Update, Senior Care
November was a great month, filled with family gatherings, laughter, a show of overwhelming support from our donors, and much more. Here is a glimpse…
Our first picnic in a very long time. It was a fitting reunion for many families of our residents to come together at Legacy Place. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Do you see anyone you know?
For a few hours we took a trip to back to our childhood. It was wonderful to see these older ones giggle like schoolgirls, get sportive like little boys and leave all their worries behind. We all need a little bit of this in our lives, don’t we?
What joy a dear furry friend can bring. We saw this first hand recently at our home. Studies show that calm animals have a calming effect. Engaging with an animal, such as a therapy dog, reduces levels of cortisol, a hormone the body produces in response to stress. It also increases levels of serotonin, a hormone that influences mood. Higher levels are associated with feeling happy, calm and focused.
Thank you for the overwhelming support that we received towards the Giving Tuesday campaign! Your donations help us to care for older ones who are unable to afford the cost of care. Thank you for being part of this effort. We are grateful and we love you.
