June Update – Colors, Games and Stamps

July 4, 2024 | Monthly Update, Senior Care

We have had a wonderful, fun month this June. Hope all of you have had a great time too. Here are some highlights.

Playing with Colors

No matter what age we are, no matter how infirm- colors make us happy! Creating these wonderful fabric designs at Arts Beat Cafe was joyful and fulfilling. We have some beautiful scarves to show for it too!

Game night!

Studies have shown that regularly playing puzzles and brain games can slow down age-related cognitive decline by as much as five years! Board and dice games prompt intellectual abilities such as strategic thinking, memory recall, and problem-solving. They can also maintain fine motor skills through physical actions and provide opportunities for social interaction, making it easier to adjust to senior living. All in all we had a fun time!

She Got It!

These are little things but it sure does add to our joy and confidence. Meaningful friendships, daily intellectual activity, and social activity are known to slow down or help prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s and dementia as well.

We’re all out of stamps 🙂

Thank you for your amazing response to our ask for stamps last time. Our residents have put it to good use! Though they aren’t able to have an active share in many forms of witnessing because of their health, they are doing more than their best by writing to different ones. Your donations of stamps are much appreciated. If you would like to donate stamps, please send them to this address: 2051 Bevin Dr. Allentown, PA 18103-6995
Thank you so much!
